Not everyone who hears a cry for help answers it. The ones who do don't do it for recognition — they step out of the shadows quietly, at their own expense, carrying what others can't. They fight for causes that aren't theirs by obligation, only by choice. They protect without being asked. They give without keeping count.

Sometimes, even their lives.
